With the launch of the iPad on January 27, 2010, Apple virtually created the tablet computer market, gaining 90 percent of the tablet computing market share that year. The multitouch device, built for consuming digital content, got a refresh in March 2011 with front- and rear-facing cameras (designed for FaceTime), a thinner and lighter form factor, faster processor and gyroscope.
