"$0 initial investment" Well, $90 is no big investment, I'll agree, but the real 'investment' is the time and patience required to learn the new tools and how to express the idea of an idea in the software/hardware available. Depending on one's skill, other duties (job?, family?, suitable housing w/electricity?) and facilities available, there definitely are costs involved. And I didn't even mention the Mac required to run the SDK. ;-)

Of course, there have been some tremendous 'returns on investment!!!' WOW! Only thing I lack is that 'idea' thing... LOL! And just maybe the 'skills' part, too... ;-)

I'd been looking for a unit conversion app, when I read a review of ConvertBot.

Wow! Not only is it a gorgeous piece of work on every level, but it makes a truly mundane and tedious task a lot of fun. That takes true talent!

I look forward to what they'll be able to produce doing it full time.

If their two products are a testament to what they can accomplish part time I'm going to be thrilled to see what they can do in a full time gig.

It's stories like this that are truly inspiring.

The guys at Tapbots make beautiful apps that are inspiring in themselves, but when you see how that work has paid off - it really gives you some much needed faith in the platform from a developer standpoint. It proves that persistent effort and attention to detail pay off. Short term profit makers may make a quick buck in less time, but Tapbots have built something special here.

I am sure their future Apps will be of similar (if not higher) quality - and I am sure a lot of their customers share this opinion. That's what counts.
