Or you can just hover your mouse pointer over a certain word and press shift+alt+cmd+d in order to get a pop-up definition of the word in question. Much simpler than having to reach for the services menu. Note that this only works in Cocoa applications (which Apple has promised to make all (visible) programs when Snow Leopard comes)

1) I don’t know about you, but when I watch a movie, it is because I want to see that movie, and thus I couldn’t care less about how the QuickTime X interface looks like, which is invisible most of the time anyway.

2) The Quick Look improvements might come in handy, from time to time.

3) “Look Up in Dictionary” and “Search in Google” -> bloat (browser stuff).

Those services to lookup in dictionary and reveal already exist in OS X, they’re just grouped by the app that offers them instead of the data type they work on.

Search in Google and Look up in Dictionary are not new – they are in my Leopard services menu, and show up when right clicking on most selected text.

I might be in the minority, but I find the recent pics of Quicktime X to be really ugly. I don’t like the gloss traffic lights on the black. They work well with the light gradient, but if they are indeed planning to move to a more muted UI, similar to iTunes… I think they need to rethink the glossy traffic lights.

Also, I’m not quite sure I see the usefulness of having the ability to play videos in the Finder window, and flip through PDF pages in Finder. I don’t generally keep my icons at the size necessary to make this feature useful. As long as it doesn’t impede performance too much, it’s not a big deal. I find it actually easier to just hit Space while in Finder than having to click on the icon to preview it…

I’m reserving final judgement until more information is released, of course.
