I think folks are taking this post too much to heart. I just meant to point out how some of those who have had problems might feel about this message, and as with all marketing, it should be taken with a grain of salt.

But it's encouraging to hear so many positive stories. By the way, has anyone had any issues with CS3 not upgrading properly?

MacJournals News: <a href="http://www.macjournals.com/news/despicable.html" rel="nofollow">The Despicable MacFixIt</a>

Enough with the OS update fear mongering, please. If you're running potentially dangerous system hacks, then disable and uninstall them before updating or do an Archive and Install.

With all of the chicken little mass hysteria that's been going on since 10.5 came out, you'd think people would just never upgrade their systems, or just go back to OS 9

The install of Leopard was, as far as I'm concerned, painless. I did an Erase & Install, after having updated my latest bootable copy of Tiger and the whole MacBook Pro; installed Leopard, used Migration Assistant to copy over what I wanted to copy from the old backup copy and that was it. No glitch. One problem: the printer settings (had to redo all those).
And all was done in less than 4 hours.

Im getting a bit bored with your blog -- you seem to be a real whinger...

If you were really a Mac fan (worthy to write a blog on it) you would have installed Leopard by now....

I think Apples marketing email is entirely accurate -- just because you have some anecdotal evidence of the contrary doesn't mean Apple's marketing position on the installation process of Leopard is wrong..

seems like just another sensationalist story desperate for viewerships -- and guess what? -- it worked!

my install of leopard works almost flawless, except that when i restart it for the first time, the MemoryCell hack didn't work well, but it was updated two days ago and it works fine again, so i have nothing to blame. I didn't have to worry about reinstalling apps, settings transition, or whatever. the upgrade experience is very nice actually.

people with flawless upgrade won't blame, that's internet.

Well, I'll add myself to the list of people who had a completely painless install. I've been extremely happy with Leopard. I think the problem with the recent shift to an internet full of digg-like forums and blogs is that the extremely vocal minority has started yelling so loud that you can't see all the satisfied customers (aka. the normies).
