My prediction:

Apple inks a MVNO deal
They take zero margin on voice minutes
They release their iphone with the best mobiel voice offer ever as they take no margin (even some dumping is possible as they could cover by the margin made by selling the phone)
Phone has fully integration with PC.
They sell millions as they would have : the best device, the best mobile voice offering, they would leverage itunes,im,ilife, ieverything and also sell more apple pc...

Done !

Steve, I can do this for you in Europe.....

@Andrew: Isn't it amazing how all anyone could dream of was the true video iPod for the longest time, then the iPhone rumor took over and now there is barely a pulse left to discussion of a true video ipod. Funny how things change.

@Chris Ryan: What is iMovie if not a video application? Wouldn't it be sad if Madonna was the next washed up pop star to jump in bed with Apple and Bono. Though McCartney would be a better one to bring in when they announce the release of the full Beatles catalog on ITS. I expect some big partnership news as well, hopefully something useful and not just movie studios.

@Chris D: I like this input for the 21st century idea, I hope you're right (though something more functional than the Wiimote of course).

I really woud love to see a side by side chart of Microsoft OS releases to Apple OS Releases of say the last decade or two, then a specific focus on OS X releases.

As far as product releases who knows... I think an iPhone is necessary to cater to the growing Mac user community, especially those who need something that works better with their Mac than a Windows Mobile enabled Treo. There has been talk of Apple exploring OS X in a variety of devices, I think a OS X Mobile is long overdue. Home on Phone??? (introduced by animatronic E.T.)

iTV (whatever its going to be called) obvious for the most part, I wouldn't be surprised to hear a whole lot about HD, Partnerships with Movie companies etc. Maybe it will use the new HDCP spec and have some tie-ins to Leopard that we are completely in the dark about.

Which leads to the thoughts a new iPod will be seen. If HD content is going to be for sale on the iTMS then you better believe real Video iPods are going to be available too. Products like the following offer (DivX/MPEG4) HD (up to 1080i) component video out, its not too far out to think Apple should be offering the same with a built in screen.

http://www.usbgear.com/computer_cable_details.cfm?sku=USBG-AIVX8&cats=174&catid=140%2C118%2C131%2C161%2C174%2C175%2C176

All the Mac models, I don't see much happening... Maybe a speed bump or 8 core Mac Pro. Don't see this being a huge part of the Keynote.

iLife, it would be a little troublesome if Apple didn't provide some serious new qualities to the iLife suite, though some are near perfect I would say. Perhaps some suite wide intergration for better assets management or time machine functionality... who knows but Apple needs to deliver if they plan for people to purchase an upgrade.

Ok so completely ridiculous speculation based prediction. New type of input device!. I think a keyboard and mouse is completely antiquated. They were developed to use very (now) primative machinery. The Apple version of the Wii remote? who knows... but it is being addressed.

Expect a video application in iLife 07. Now that iPods can display Video, expect more video apps. Maybe iVideo?

Sales figures will be good...as with the usual traffic report at the Apple Stores...

Also expect to hear more partnerships with big companies.

Madonna may make a guest appearance...

Ok here's my question about the Apple phone (no, it won't be called "iPhone, Linksys owns that, remember?): I have Sprint as my carrier, and Sprint has it's own music store. Tracks are $1.99, and of course the data charges. My Samsung A900 can play MP3 files--just not MP3 files that aren't from Sprint.

So I highly doubt Sprint would carry an Apple-branded phone, since said phone would most likely have some iTunes integration, and if it does, then no one has to use Sprint's store, which means Sprint potentially loses a revenue stream.

Other carriers have their own music services, so why would they carry the phone too? Most phones ship with features that have been shut off and I doubt Apple would bother designing a product that won't do whatever it is they build it to do.

Grant: as far as being blindsided, I'm predicting the much-rumored-but-now-forgotten "true" video iPod :)

No one thinks that we will be blind-sided? It is amazing how often Steve's keynotes catch EVERYONE off guard with some big thing and every time all the predictions roll out without consideration of the fact that none of us know a damn thing and something will knock our socks off that we don't see coming in the least. I just hope that it is either affordable (by Apple user standards) or not necessary for my life at this point.

My prediction is that Apple never makes a cell phone while Steve is at the helm and that he will knock our socks off with something that will take a full hour to explain and demonstrate.

Boom count: 0.

Here's my prediction for this year's Macworld show stopper.

There will be a totally new iMac. It will have 17, 20 and 24 inch screens as before. It will be all in one as before, only this time the height will be barely more than the height of the screen, and it will be much wider to accomodate the speakers on either side.

The iMac will be all metal with rounded edges. The sides, top and bottom will be a metal grill to help cooling. There will be no ports or buttons on the back. The base of the stand will house the ports and the iPod connector, and the power cord will enter the rear of the base and travel inside the upright and into the Mac. The wireless keyboard and mouse will also be metal; they will dock with each other and then to the front of the base for recharging.

There will be black bezels above and below the screen; they will hide the iSight camera, and the remote and ambient light sensors.

There will be an optional super-remote, also metal, that contains its own wide screen display so that media can be managed without on screen displays marring the experience of viewing movies etc on the Mac. When the remote is inserted in the side of the Mac for recharging: calendars, contacts, images and documents will be copied over to the remote. They can all be viewed on the remote, or plugged into other Macs and MacBooks for viewing and editing.

There are no switches or buttons on the remote apart from a discrete hold switch; the five inch screen is also a crude camera that senses the user's thumbs hovering just above the surface, gestures are used for navigation and selection.

Two accessories will be available to encapsulate the remote when it is away from the Mac. One contains a speaker and microphone as well as other electronics, turning the remote into a cell phone. The other contains a lens and seven megapixel sensor, turning the remote into a digital camera.

The wireless keyboard from the Mac can also communicate with the remote for creating and editing documents away from the Mac.
