For him to take a sick leave he has to be really sick to the point where can no longer do his job.

If he is really facing the abyss he would want to spend time with his family. It would be the only sensible thing to do.

Look for unusual patterns on insider stock trading. He may be consolidating his estate if he was expecting the worst.

I hope he recovers though. He has absolutely been the best thing that ever happened to Apple since he became CEO again.

My respect and hopes for a speedy recovery, Mr. Jobs.

Has today’s news that Steve Jobs is stepping down temporarily as CEO come as the proverbial nail in the coffin?

Given Mr. Jobs’ nearly fatal bout with cancer, and the possibility of a recurrence, that’s a really tasteless lead paragraph.

Daisy: I disagree that this is somehow sensationalist. We’re not posting this to get more pageviews or any crap like that. We posted the news earlier and now we’re posting what is clearly an opinion piece. We’re not claiming this as fact, we’re claiming it as Nick’s point of view. It’s an article to foster discussion among the community.

Now that we’ve set that straight, let’s carry on with the discussion. :)

really, is there any need for any more conjecture or nonsense on this?

i don’t see anything here that anybody else isn’t reporting, which is basically reposting that one e-mail. it’s been less than four hours, and already stuff like this is flying around.

i like this blog ’cause you guys have your own unique tone and sense of person, but stuff like this just seems sensationalist and doesn’t serve any real purpose other than to stir the pot.

no disrespect, just my observations on your observations.
