I simply can not believe how bad the iPhone and itunes is. We are not in a brilliant reception area, but with the iPhone, the phone drops out on a regular basis, like nothing else we have experienced in the last seven years. Reception wise, it is the worst phone we have ever had in fifteen or more years as far as reception is concerned. Just pathetic.

We saw on the internet and were told by our provider that the phone needed a software update via itunes. We had an older version of itunes which could not even download an update for itself. So we downloaded the lastest version and reinstalled it. Still error 3259. We unblocked ports 3689 & 5353 still error 3259. We can download hundreds of megs via other browsers but itunes, it’s as slow as a snail or even slug. A few megs and it crashes.

Now we’re stuck with a phone which would be OK if it worked as a phone in places where other phones work and a useless toy that can’t be updated.

It’s going to take a lot to get me to ever buy apple again.

Hi, this is naveen, i have a iphone 3g, i upgraded my iphone from older to new 3.0 firmware, from that time i am not receiving the incoming calls oftenly but not always !! could u help me !!!

I like a lot of people tried many times; over 20 at least. Then last week up in Shanghai i plugged my iPhone 3G into my pc to charge it. I accepted the download and install option in iTunes and went to bed. The following morning it had successfully downloaded! That was on my work thinkpad and not even my Macbook.

Strange that it can do that in a hotel room in Shanghai and not at home in Melbourne!!!!!

I am still trying to download OS 3.0 (have been trying daily for 3 weeks now) and still keep getting the “Network Timed Out” message. This is ludicrous!

I have a first gen iphone. Never upgraded since 2007. Recently did the 3.0 download now my notes app (original app) doesnt work. I can see the list of notes but if I tap one it goes right back to the home screen. I can write a new note but when I tap done it goes right back to the home screen and the note doesnt save. Any ideas?

I don’t Know what happened, but when i tried to download the OS 3.0, It said i had an arrow contacting the itunes store. i tried it 2 more times with the same results. In the Outcome, Itunes ATE 30 of my dollars, and now idont have enough to get the OS 3.0. Any suggestions???

I ended up installing itunes on my wifes computer. I used that install for the update and then restored eveything from my box. It was the only thing that would work for me.

eric, i go a bit better. I get the whole 230.1 mb to download and then the server error message pops up. I have tried to download x 10 at least. Not a happy camper!!!

I’ve tried EVERY SINGLE DAY since OS 3.0 came out to download the 230 mb update through iTunes. The most I’ve gotten so far is about 80mb, and I get a Network Timed Out, or other network error. I have no problem with other types of large downloads(even larger), this seems to be isolated to iTunes. I have 8.2 iTunes. Ive tried two different broadband connections, one Wired and one Wireless and I can’t get the download to complete. What’s worse is iTunes won’t keep the unfinished download and resume even if you hit pause, it restarts at 0mb. I’ve read a lot of similar complaints on a lot of websites, yet there doesn’t seem to be any answers anywhere. The apple forums are strangely Silent about this, which I find hard to believe. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can complete this download?

i hope somebody can help me:

2 weeks ago, my friend jailbroke my iphone and i was able to download free apps from app.ulo.us but after a week, i accidentally uploaded my iphone software to 3.0. Now my iphone is back to its settings when i first bought it. that is fine but the problem is, i cant put new applications anymore. neither applications from app.ulo.us nor apps from the itunes store. help!

Have the iphone 3G, second to newest iphone. I downloaded the newest software, everything went fine. I got the voice notes, iphone search engine, copy paste, everything but it doesnt allow me to attach pictures or videos in my texts (doenst even give me an option) and theres no icon for videotaping. Help!

I bought the software for Ipod touch but my computer crashed halfway through the instalation..so it wasnt properly installed but i think i got charged anyway! any help on how to get it without having to buy it AGAIN?
