I am just wanting a simple template, ideally for use in a signature, with one image. No editable content area required, no background image, no borders needing to be aligned or anything. Just standard text plus an image that is on a server. Unfortunately I have to have an image in my signature, but I don’t want to send an attachment with every single email.

I actually don’t have this path on my Mac. I tried but it didn’t work. I gave the latest of Snow Leopard. Is there any chance I could use them with Thunderbird ? Thanks a lot for you help.

getting old doing everytime
1. click on show stationary
and
2. click on the customized one that I use

can’t we just save the custom stationery as the default??

There’s a way using automator, but it really isn’t pretty…

Of course, I’m assuming that Mail uses Webkit to display html. The CSS will need to either be inline or as a ‘…style=”font:WHATEVER,DIFFERENTONE;…”…’ in whatever html tag you might be using. Making the CSS inline (inside the header portion of the html) will allow you to make all html tags behave the same way without having to keep using the ‘…style=”…”…’ method.

OTOH, if Mail can’t handle CSS forget all the above! ;-)

I would, however, mention that many of us have html turned OFF. If a recipient has done that, all your work will simply be wasted unless there is some kind of indication that html is in the message. Many of us refuse to allow html in email because it is a great vector for SPAMmers grabbing your email address. Mainly when the html asks to download an image back on the SPAMmer’s server. When that request goes out, that server will record where to send it and your IP number and thus your address will be saved. :-( I only wish the iPhone Mail app had such capabilities! ;-(

BTW, this blog has been extremely helpful! And if i can find my way to creating a mailstationary, anyone can do it!
