It is already a multi-billion dollar network that the US gov’t (and its many taxpayers) have created and maintained. It is FREE to use anywhere on earth. By including some relatively simple (and cheap) hardware and software it would add a lot to our computer experience… slapping a bigger hard drive in an ipod is not innovation. Adding GPS would be!
