I think this is extremely well done. I think they should make a version for Windows, or incorporate this into Google Desktop as the de facto search box.

I think I figured it out. It seems that the ⌘-⌘ shortcut is intended to be two quick taps on the SAME command key in rapid succession. I was trying to hit the left and right command keys simultaneously and this didn’t work every time. Hitting the same command key twice works much better.

I really like the idea of the ⌘-⌘ shortcut, but it doesn’t seem to work reliably on my computer. I had switched Spotlight to control-space since I use QuickSilver so often. I was hoping to put GQSB on command-command and move Spotlight back to command-space.

FYI…if the Google QSB bears a striking similarity to Quicksilver it’s because the QSB is the project QuickSilver developer Nicholas Jitkoff stopped development on Quicksilver to pursue.

what are the benefits of QSB versus using spotlight. if you wanted to include google docs coudlnt you also download precipitate?

QSB seems much more intuitive to me than QS. It is also actively developed. So i expect it to become as powerful as QS soon. Here is my guide to QSB

@poyboy: You can turn off sending statistics to google. Also if you are paranoid, you can build the app from the source after pouring over every line of code :)

What are the privacy implications? Does Google get a peek (anonymous or not) at your hard drive contents?
