It's extremely likely that Latitude will become an option in the Maps application.

Think about it.

Apple says to Google... Please don't make an app...make a web app in the meantime and we'll include in the Maps app in the future.

Google replies... OK, deal.

Apple probably doesn't want an app floating around that duplicates future functionality of the Maps app.

It works, to an extent here in Denmark.

If I go direct to Latitude, from a web browser, I can enter co-ordinates manually. If I go from the iPod Touch, as I don't have location services enabled (none of the Apps can ever (ever) find me on Wi-Fi and I really don't know why location services are even on the iPod Touch in the first place), there's no way even of manually setting position.

However, if from the browser, I then add the Latitude to iGoogle (or whatever it's called) lo! It appears. However, negotiate away from iGoogle and come back, then there's a panel saying that Latitude isn't available in my area.

It's all moot anyway as I don't know any one who is on, or gives a flying f%€k about someone finding them on it anyway.

Apple should have let them embed Latitude into the Maps app and allowed for either push or fetch to update your location since the iPhone can't do background processes. But eh. I'll still give it a try.
