Now it is in Safari and even slicker. The iPhoto wall is slick. To check to see if it worked I searched for a Scandinavian bank bailout program using images. The “swedish model” is the best economic visual out there.

The only way to get rid of the problem was to get rid of Cooliris. I found many others with this problem on the apple discussion groups.

I’ve not had any noticeable slow-downs using Cooliris, but you may very-well be right – and I might be in the minority.

To uninstall:
Go to the View – Cooliris menu in Safari and click on the Remove Cooliris menu option.

As far as manually uninstalling, here’s what I’ve found:

* Close Safari
* Trash the Cooliris Previews folder found in /LIBRARY/InputManagers/
* Trash the cooliris’ .plugin file found in /LIBRARY/Internet Plugins/

Depending on whether you installed Cooliris for just your user or system-wide, substitute /LIBRARY with /Users/Library or /System/Library.

The only way to completely remove it is googling your way to an AppleScript that fires off a bunch of shell commands to delete the various files… only fair that you be warned.
