I bought an ipod vid and camera connector for the same reason as many of you.

In two words... Think Different.

I shoot in RAW format, and instead of a 20 second upload to the ipod, it was a couple of minutes. This is unacceptable. I figured it was my camera speed of transfer, but when I tried it with my 4 year old Creative Nomad Jukebox 3... it took l ike a minute to upload ALL of them

Thank you once again Apple for helping me think different.

Anybody wanna buy an ipod video?

I have an 80GB iPod purchased in November 2006.
I have an Apple iPod camera connector purchased in February 2007.

The first few times I used the camera connector to upload photos from my Canon Digital Rebel XT and Canon Powershot S45, it worked brilliantly. I used this process on a 7-day trip to Morocco, uploading about 750 3-4MB pictures. Then I deleted all the pictures (after transferring them to iPhoto, which worked much as it does with a camera; I wish iTunes wouldn't start up though).

The next time I used the camera connector, it appeared to be working, took the right sort of time, used up the right sort of MB and created the right number of thumbnail "positions". However, only 8 thumbnails were created, and only these 8 pictures were accessible.

When the iPod is connected to the iBook, iPhoto now says "no camera connected". The iPod shows up in the Finder.

Fortunately a friend had a laptop to hand, otherwise that would have been it for photography over Easter. Any ideas as to what went wrong and what to do about it?
I don't think I'll be able to trust the iPod again for this job, unless there is a fix that can be applied "in the field".

It is an extremely expensive failure. (I've also had problems getting music onto it: again, it worked perfectly the first time but all subsequent attempts to add more music from iTunes have failed. iTunes says it can't write to the device.)

Thanks
