I'm not sure how this can be an honest review without even mentioning the horrible slowdown. It makes the game virtually unplayable and I'm talking about with hardware made years later and 5 or 6 times more powerful than what was available then. It's a bad port, they didn't write to the core graphic libraires or didn't rewrite their own libraires to take advantage of the Mac architecture. My guess is they just plopped in the C libraries without a thought, did a few GU updates, and shoved it out the door.

The game is unplayable as it is. You're better off getting the PC version and playing it in a virtual machine (yep, faster than the OS X version!) or boot camp.

Aspyr states that the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (upgrade option) in the MacPro is not currently supported - however, we have not encountered any issues in our testing on several different units.

Note that this is an Intel only Mac Game and will not work on PPC Macs.

I would like to applaud Aspyr for bringing this title to the Mac. This is an accurate review and I agree that you will have to fiddle with control settings of NWN2 to have better control of your character.

So now the bad part; Multiplayer is almost non-functional. This issue occurs when you are grouped up with another human; when they move or turn, it sometimes moves or turns your character or camera. It stutters, then jitters and sometimes you just walk away. Here’s my theory: One of the aspects to the game is that you can group up with computer controlled characters, and when you turn or move, they follow. This AI type of control affects everyone in the party, which may be causing one players movements to affect other human players in the party.

Aspyr has been contacted and while not directly acknowledging this bug, they say a patch is coming soon that will address many remaining Windows version issues that rolled into the Mac version.

Additionally, Aspyr has been behind in getting any kind of support forum set up for this game - as of today it isn't even listed in the support game list!

In spite of that, a great game and lots of fun (single player), and I think it will be a hoot once they get multi-player working.
