Upgrade to Snow Leopard will be available in India within 3 weeks from 28th august.
First upgrade to leopard from tiger and then further upgrade to snow leopard from your leopard. No need to take leopard DVD to store as proof, simply tell your friend at US to buy leopard disc in your name & details which you had given at the time of purchasing your macbook with tiger and remember, to buy upgrade disc of snow leopard also with same older details of your’s.

You won’t be able to upgrade directly from tiger. You have to first upgrade to leopard and then further upgrade to Snow Leopard. You don’t have to take leopard disc to shop, but just tell your friend at US to purchase the leopard DVD in your name with your Indian Address/Details and then buy the Snow Leopard DVD also in your name with details/Address with which you had previously registered your Mac/Tiger with Apple Co.

Yes, the disc with the optional software packages does not check to see what OS you are running before you select which programs to install.

Is it true that Snow Lepoard will cost 10 bucks for those who bought thir computers in august? thats what the saleman in the apple store told me.

Wow, I’m soooo excited over the new upgrade Snow Leopard for Mac. I’ve been using Mac for years in
My work for many years now and this new surprise arrival is very much accepted and long awaited. Thanks MAC. The prices I think are pretty reasonable. What do other people think of this? I would love to get some feedback. Thank you and have a great day and enjoy your new Snow Leopard upgrade.

Good news regarding the snow leopard release!! I would like to
confirm one thing though.
-I have iLife ’08 on my MacBook. It came with the Leopard OS disc
when I bought the MacBook.
If I upgrade to SL using the $29 option, I wont have iLife. Would I
be able to use the disc that I got with Leopard to install iLife’08
on SL?

It’s truly amazing how people pre-order or rush to the gates to buy this without really taking a second or two to think it through. Then something stops working and their next comment is how disappointed they are with the new system and everything else …. LOL

Did anyone notice that the Apple Store page for the $29 copy of Snow Leopard only updates Leopard installs?

I don’t recall Apple $29 announcement at WWDC saying that it wasn’t a full installer.

Hey folks – I’ve just done a bit of research and I can’t find any details anywhere that say the box set is only for Tiger users – according to the Mac Store online UK if you buy iLife ’09 and iWork ’09, that alone comes to more than the box set price (iLife and iWork both at £69, and the box set at £129) and nowhere on the system requirements does it specify it is just for Tiger…

Hm, I just did a little research, and it actually ends up cheaper to just buy them individually for Leopard users, particularly if I get iLife and iWork off of Amazon. Guess that’s why they aren’t offering the box set.

I have 10.5, but I’m still running iLife 08 and iWork 08. I’d love an opportunity to update those with a box set. It’s kind of annoying that the box set appear to be exclusively for 10.4. However, if anyone knows differently, and there is going to be a box set for current Leopard users, I’d love to be proven wrong.
