I can live without the volume control on them...
They should add the iPhone to the list of compatible devices on the Store with some note on that.. The way it is now makes it seem like the mic might not even work!

I have a pair of in ear headphones for my, now passed on to a family member, ipod.
When I use them my girlfriend tells me I shout when speaking, because I can't hear how loud Im talking.

So I really want to get them, especially if the volume buttons will work, but imagine being on the iPhone and not being able to hear one self talking.. thus shouting when on the phone.

Any info on Apple actually solving this?

Well, that sucks... I was planning on getting them specifically for the volume buttons... and they don't work on the iPhone!

Oh well, guess I'm getting the new Zagg Z-bud headset...

The new standard headset is also on the site now with a ship date of 2-4 weeks. This model is probably almost identical to the buds shipping with the iPhone and iPod now, but has volume up/down with the answer button.

It's also a much more affordable option if you're just looking for that convenient volume control :)
