I’ve tried the competition and am not a fan, I find everything simply plays better on The New York Times Crossword. My favorite feature is solving in the clueslist view and showing related clues.

Thanks for the review. One alternative (that I use) is Crosswords, which includes the ability to download puzzles from multiple sources, including the NYTimes (paid subscription required, apparently). But the majority of the puzzles are free.

I’m not a hardcore crossworder, but the puzzles are more than challenging enough for this college-grad. :-)

The archive of puzzles available is actually huge! If you go to the calendar view in the game, you can select nearly every published puzzle back to 1996.

I play this game every day.. fantastic value!
