Gigaom Notifications

We’ve got something new for you: Gigaom.com now supports Safari Push Notifications. With the release of OS X Mavericks, Apple opened up its notifications platform to third party developers. Working with WordPress development house 10up, we can offer our Mac readers another way to know about important new stories as soon as they are published.

In order to take advantage of this feature, visit our site in Safari 7 running on Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9). Click the [+] icon to show all the ways you can follow Gigaom and click on the Get Notifications link. This link is only visible if you are running Safari on Mavericks. Click Allow on the pop-up dialog and then you will be subscribed to Notifications from Gigaom.

Gigaom Notifications

Once subscribed to notifications from Gigaom, you will get a small pop-up notification on your desktop whenever we push a important new story to our readers. You have the option to click on that notification to read the story right away or review past notifications in your notifications center in order to catch up on news while you’ve been away. Should you ever wish to unsubscribe, all notifications are managed via Safari preferences in the Notifications tab.

We hope you like this handy new way to keep up with our news. Let us know in the comments if you have questions or feedback.
