Copyrighted material like cartoon characters and designer products can easily be 3D printed with the right tools, and many industry players are attempting to stop their dissemination. A program released by artist Matthew Plummer-Fernandez introduces glitches into designs to turn them into a different scrambled design, allowing them to be uploaded unnoticed to websites that store 3D printable files for download. People can then download the file and use the program to reverse the glitches, leaving them with the original design.
