Through the integration, the more than 3,700 doctors using CareCloud will be able to allow patients to book appoints online more seamlessly. ZocDoc did not share how many CareCloud doctors could be new clients but said existing clients have been asking for integrations that enable their disparate systems to work more closely together.
For CareCloud, which has raised $29 million in the past few months, the announcement shows an increasing interest in teaming up with other healthcare players and serving as a platform in the industry – earlier this month, it announced an integration with cloud startup Box. ZocDoc said that while this is the first time it’s worked with another company through a publicly-available API in this way, it’s open to other similar partnerships.
The two companies said that as the Affordable Care Act puts new pressures on healthcare providers, their aim is to enable more efficiency to help doctors better meet growing demand.
