Summary:

HTC has taken the gold smartphone trend to the next level with the limited edition 18-carat gold HTC One.

Apple might have struck gold with its popular new color for the iPhone 5s, but HTC is taking the trend to the next level. In celebration of the 18th anniversary of the MOBO awards (a British awards ceremony for “music of black origin”), HTC is producing a limited edition version of its flagship One smartphone. The phone is plated in 18-carat gold and costs £2,750 (or approximately $3,734).

HTC One gold

HTC made the phone in partnership with gold device customizer Goldgenie. The body of the phone is made of a single piece of metal and the back and front panels are plated in pure 18-carat gold. Aside from that and the laser-etched MOBO logo on the back, this is the same old HTC One smartphone. If you want to buy one, make sure to take out a loan quick, as there are only five phones available.

  1. but what can it do that other’s can’t except be traded on the commodities market?!
