Developer interest in Windows Phone might be waning, but Microsoft is reportedly looking at a way to shake things up. According to sources close to The Verge, Microsoft is planning to merge its Windows Store and its Windows Phone Store into one big app store. This is bound to increase exposure for apps on both platforms, though it is unclear if they will be cross-compatible. Microsoft is planning to launch the store to coincide with the release of Windows Phone 8.1 and a “special update” to Windows 8.1.
