Summary:

Hope you like the card-based user interface of Google Now. It’s already a staple of Google Glass and as of Wednesday comes to Gmail for Android to improve the conversation view.

Gmail for Android received a minor face-lift on Wednesday with an updated version available in the Google Play store. Android phones set to auto-update apps should see the new version as it rolls out. Google focused on cleaning up conversation view by using the same card interface found in Google now and on Google Glass.

Google described the changes in a Google+ post:

Starting today, Gmail for Android is getting a new, cleaner design for its conversation view. The update also includes a number of additional design tweaks such as checkmarks for multiple message selection so you can easily see what messages you are about to move, archive or delete.

As an added bonus the app will now tell you, right in your inbox, if account sync is off so that you won’t accidentally miss an important message again.”

My Moto X hasn’t seen the update yet and I can’t seem to force it, but I like the sound of what Google is bringing. Based on the example screencaps, you can see the card-based conversation threads as well as the checkmarks for multiple message selection.
