Amazon will once again be the exclusive, in-season streaming home of the CBS hit show Under the Dome. The companies announced Thursday that they’ve renewed their deal for the show’s second season, which will air in summer 2014.

Under the Dome, based on the Stephen King novel of the same title, premiered on CBS this summer, and in an unusual deal, Amazon streamed new episodes of the show on Prime Instant Video four days after they aired. The season 2 deal will work the same way. And the only way to purchase and download episodes will be through Amazon.

CBS also noted that Under the Dome was “the most-watched series of the summer across broadcast and cable,” with 14.85 million viewers. It was also a hit on Amazon, where “the first episode of Under the Dome was the most watched TV premiere in the history of Prime Instant Video, and the show was watched by more customers of the service than any other series this summer.”

  1. OMG! Worst show ever, why does this cr@p continue to get picked up?

  2. Obligatory “Simpsons did it”.

  3. It was meant to be a MINI SERIES. Dragging it on will bring down the shows integrity.
