My basic dream phone is this:

• 720p+ OLED
• Large battery
• USB 3 (unpowered is fine)
• internal SSD (ie internally its a SATA 6gbps device)
• ~200+ gflop/s for the GPU (ie, gaming console replacement)

I really don't care about quad core or not .. I'm sure it is progressing just fine and sticking with the crowd is sufficient.

No matter whether it is iPhone or Android based phone.

I have a question what percentage of those Android devices sold can actually purchase aps from the Android market? The Android devices from Amazon can not and there are a number of other devices running Android that can not as well.

I think this may be skewing the numbers quite a bit.

Sorry but I just cannot see it. This is another Blog about market share and if we are talking commodity items, OK. But people buy Apple and get buying on the web WAY more than Android.

Android = cheap or free buyers. Yes they move apps, free apps.

Also, you still have the fragmented problem. Which version do you develop for??? So, no I just do not see this.

As soon as you say market share with Apple, all else is questionable.

Just a thought,

Maybe they don't count a a AAA developer, but the guys behind the sensational Pocket Casts just went Android-first on their major update, saying that their revenue on Android is something like 4x what it is on iOS. Now, one Aussie developer does not a trend make, but I suspect that the conventional wisdom is right about this and we'll start to see more and more. Nice try, though!
