be careful. i ordered one of these and they started my monthly count down the very day. no device in hand. then few days later on their web site it said was shipped and "click here" to track. well, "click here" took me to fedex which didn't know that tracking number. next day same. next day same. next day fedex still doesn't know that tracking number.
i canceled through my credit card company. they got me and freedompop on the phone. guy said they just changed from fedex. ok. so you didn't send fedex? nope. and you can't change that on your web site? developers are working on it. so in the last 4 days you changed from fedex to something i've never heard of? yep.

why is my monthly days counting day? he'll give me credit. credit? again, why is it counting down when no device in hand and no activation?

so i said refund now. he said they'll issue a refund when they get the device back. uh, i DO NOT HAVE THE DEVICE TO SEND BACK! i can't track the device 'cause, you know, the developer is working on it! credit card lady said they're issuing a refund now.

Hey Austin,

Yep, it will be interesting to see just how off mobile metering especially considering how sever the penalties can be overages. I've heard lots of complaints about measurements being way off.

Well, the sleeve supposedly acts as Wi-Fi hotspot as well, just one that fits over an iPhone or iPod. It still connects other devices. It's just easier, I guess, to carry one device around rather than two.

It’s not really 500 MB free as the service will cut you off at 400 MB unless you add credit to your account. Also, with a 3 hour delay in their metering, it’s pretty easy to go over the “free” limit and get hit with extra charges.

Funny that this was posted at roughly the same time: http://gigaom.com/2013/02/07/more-bad-news-about-broadband-caps-many-meters-are-inaccurate/
