".....and how new PHP-based projects still come into the world these days"

Misleading & bias at best, and ignorant at worse.

Scaling a lamp stack with PHP in a decent architecture is fairly easy, I've done it many times and continue to build systems in PHP as a part of a large scale system.

Attempting to point to a fairly mature and proven language to describe a lack of architectural knowledge is misleading & bias at best, and ignorant at worse.

Are there good and bad languages - maybe - are there good and bad choices of language for the job at hand, definitely.

practically relevant and a nice read! i guess the takeaway is to know your product in entirety and make iterations (as much) in the prototyping stage. would be great to hear from others about implementing the JSF framework in the same nerve as the article posits.

Interesting article, however I don't really understand what is meant by "and how new PHP-based projects still come into the world these days".

Is this meant to imply that PHP is not a scalable solution? Perhaps some additional info around this would be useful along with an explanation about what is considered a scaleable solution.

I also believe it would be a great idea to somehow integrate pieces of the personalities of the start-up team into whatever product their building to make it standout even more.

This is definitely an article worth reading!
