We did not learn from the credit crisis at all. We still are looking for the quick very short term money. A company does very well and the investors are nervous, how sick can you be.
Apple sold 47.8 million iPhone5 between October and end of December 2012, a record sales number!, more Phones sold than ever.
But the anal lists (made into two words on purpose) predicted 50 million and how does the stock exchange react: value of apple shares drops by 10%.
Makes sense does it? Record sales and the shares value drops because they did not reach the estimation/prediction of the anal lists. Who are these anal lists, what real value have their predictions? In the middle ages we hung, people with a crystal ball who predicted things, from the highest tree for witchcraft.
People wake up this way we will go to a next credit crisis for sure!
Better results are better and should be embraced for what they are: GOOD"!

"Selling any iPhone counts as a sale, but older devices have a lower price and Apple makes less on those than the newer, pricier models. If Apple doesn’t sell as many new iPhone 5s as the older models, that will affect the company’s margins."

Yes it will affect margins - higher! A higher mix of older models would decrease revenue but increase gross margins.
