I see a lot of comments by the Health Care Technocrats but none from those
of us public types facing this (and paying through the nose for the privilege).

"The downside of the “bring your own device” trend is that hospitals must contend with security issues. "

Gotta love the understatement here. This will allow pretty much any corporate and
government body to troll though my "records". Ever actually read through a 'Privacy
statement" at your doctors office? What a joke, anybody gets to look. More and
more of us customers are avoiding a trip to the "medical health profession" if we
can.

Great to see us advancing the discussion on telemedicine. It's really so obvious. Pending physician shortages, increased patient demand for care, and advances in technology have made telemedicine a no-brainer to our health care woes. Convincing th public that high quality and appropriate care exists outside of the brick and mortar clinic is essential.

Great article. Healthcare can only go up from here. The most fascinating aspect will be the use of technology to have price comparison.

Pricing transparency has never existed in healthcare, but we've also never been able to see statistical comparisons of doctors and hospitals, both of which will be readily available when everything is finally digitized. It is a very different world for medicine when patients can behave like customers.

Love the article but as for your first point here...I suggest you might check out The Paradox of Choice. Sure these practices might be good for the business end of medicine but they are a nightmare for society.
