Just watched FLIGHT in 3D on Netflix. Awesome. The quality was INSANE. Thank you Netflix for being the BEST streaming service in the world.

My understanding is that current HD video is 720p. Super HD will be 1080p. There is also a matter of bitrate and compression.

I watched Netflix during the Holidays and the HD quality was awesome, now are they taking it out ???? Are they expecting me to send a letter to Comcast (My ISP) and ask them, please enable Netflix to allow me to watch HD???? Is Netflix loosing their mind!!!!

Janko, this is a very interesting new development for those of us that have 3D-enabled Smart TVs, due to the current limited availability of 3D video content.

Also, I’ve used the enhanced 1080p streaming feature on Vudu and was impressed by the quality of the video image. If the Netflix offering is similar to Vudu, then this could be a big bonus to subscribers.

In contrast, the STB from my cable TV provider outputs only 720p — and the video image frequently looks compressed. I had expected that digital cable image quality would be superior to streaming video over the public internet — but that’s not been my experience.
