Dont be so negative! Flexible Thin Film can be used in many ways without the need for further specialization. Here is an example of a Thin Film used with common curved roof tile call a TIPV (Tile Integrated Photovoltaic):

The advantage over rigid pv panels is that these thin film form factors are low profile and can have a thermal system underneath making use of the heat from behind the panels quite productivly.
