I did ask Jan that. He said METIS was funded for 30 months so that’s the current scope of its work. But he said the project could get refunded after that.

Would METIS’ investigations evolve with technology?

My hope would be that this is an ongoing project to continue sourcing cutting edge technology far beyond 30 months.

I’m not sure if I follow your question exactly, but maybe the answer is in here somewhere: METIS just formed and right now its in the identification phase. From my understanding, it will first identify technologies it wants to investigate and assign groups to look into them. It’s scheduled to make it’s recommendations in 30 months. The idea, I believe, is to bring those recommendations to the standards bodies.
