This means they would power their data centers with as much of the solar and fuel cell power as possible. When they’re producing more power than they’re consuming, they’ll sell the excess to Duke Energy. When they’re consuming more than they’re producing, they’ll buy the required supplemental energy from Duke. This is pretty typical among renewable energy projects, whether they be for homes or factories. North Carolina has a number of generous incentives for renewable energy that make these projects all the more attractive.

Fuel cells have the ability to solve a few problems at once. Hope more will become aware of fuel cell technology. Nuclear power produces only a tiny fraction of the CO2 emissions of coal. Yes, many people hate and/or fear nuclear power, but if we’re talking about climate change, its the good guy compared to coal.
