Redbox did very well with the DVD rental idea, and this VOD will add more convenience at a very low cost. Coinstar does things right and will eventually take over this industry just like they took the DVD industry from Netflix and Blockbuster. Great management goes a LONG way. Go Coinstar!

Verizon obviously wants their name on the thing, but if the service is not for their users, their co-brand makes no sense. So what do/did they do? Provide some of the funding and maybe some of the backend infrastructure? That is not a reason to confuse the consumers on the front end.

Typical telco brand thinking (of which I have a lot of personal familiarity) and Redbox capitulated because it’s the first (and maybe last) time they have partnered with a telco.
