Muy buena observación !!!. Coincido totalmente. Nuevas evaluaciones para los Estudiantes del siglo XXI deben ser aplicadas por Profesores preparados para el siglo XXI. Es necesario fortalecer las Competencias de Pensamiento Crítico y entrenar a los Alumnos para ello.

Part of the conversation should include a distinction between synchronous online instruction and asynchronous online courses. Cheating by identity switching is harder to accomplish in a virtual classroom where students and instructor log on in real time to engage in critical discourse. New assessments for 21st century learners who have access to e-resources should be generated. Students should have open access to resources on exams: exams should test synthesis of these resources and critical thinking skills. Instructors have to re-visit assessment in the 21st century and that is a good outcome of this issue: promoting higher level thinking skills in our students.

When my daughter was taking a course at a local school, some of her tests were taken on-line. However, life is what it is and sometimes one cannot take the time to start and finish a test without interruption. She frequently had to start over from the beginning with different questions. Those she had already answered were thrown out when she had to start over – from the beginning.

We need to create a surveillance state to stop people cheating on workplace training certificate exams (called four year degrees) because no one values knowledge.
