I bought this stock at the IPO because I felt that Tesla has a real shot at being the leader in the next generation of American car companies. This milestone achievement for them is a huge step in that direction. Very proud of them.

That is encouraging news. Unfortunately, my it doesn’t help my “situation”.

I live in “northern” Saskatchewan. It is a 400km drive to the nearest major center (Prince Albert). With the 85KWh battery, the Model S may get me that far. The question is, where do I go from there? If there are any SK charging stations planned or in existence, I guarantee they will be in Regina or Saskatoon. Both are out of my “range”.

If I’m lucky and Tesla proves successful, they might see fit to place a range-extending station within my reach in the next 10 years. When THAT happens there will be no more excuse not to buy an EV in Canada.

I was at the Tesla store grand opening in Toronto last night and got to take the vibe from everyone that has a Model S on order. What a great time! Lot’s of folks are jazzed too about the Sun Country Highway “World’s Longest/Greenest Highway Project” which showcases a Tesla Roadster traveling across Canada starting Saturday Nov 17th from St. John’s, NL and heading across to Victoria BC by Christmas. A really cool initiative because these mostly 90 amp SCH chargers are FREE public access allowing EV owners to travel across Canada emissions free and for ZERO electricity cost. A Tesla Model S is suppose to join the Tour now on route to Toronto from Atlantic Canada. No more excuses not to buy an EV in Canada at least ! Follow on Twitter @ SunCountryHwy

I held my breath waiting for this to happen……Tesla took the triple crown!!! (all three major of-the-year awards). This is the biggest game-changer in my lifetime (54 yrs). This shows what really can happen without old-school think hindering you, not to mention more than a little bit of true rocket science. Elon Musk is to the automotive industry what Henry Ford was a century ago. This car is just unbelievable (and yes, I may be biased, since I ordered mine immediately upon driving one, and have NEVER had a car this amazing in so many ways.) AMERICA FINALLY HAS A CAR THAT THREW GERMANY OUT OF MY GARAGE!!

We’ve been looking at X6s, SL550s, Panameras, etc. and loving what we’ve seen. We’ve yet to see a Sedan S in person, but we intend to drive down to Miami to do so. I can say already, though, that the prospect of an ELECTRIC car in the same league as those others tends to cast a shadow of obsolescence over the whole gas-powered car industry. As nice as the Panamera is, I don’t want it to be my expensive gas guzzler surrounded on the road by electrics in 10-15 years.

I think Elon has adequate power of intelligence and charisma to pull it off. He’s the Steve Jobs of the new American auto industry, and he could very well have the executive skills to further build his companies enough to push through all the silly crap that lies in his way, to achieve his very worthwhile goals.
