You are correct, I did not go into the differences between Push and Fetch. This article only focused on how to access each of Google's services, pointing out the fact that in order to configure all four, Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Notes, you will need to set up your Google account twice.

Answer? when I originally set it up it was because Exchange profile gave me push email, not sure if thats changed for regular gmail profile.
