you have to remember that the usefullness of hotmails security holes makes it a prime example for spammers, hence the numbers reported for hotmail, with REAL users would be much smaller.

That’s not true at all. You don’t even need a GMail account to use Google’s other services, you can log in to those using an e-mail address that’s not gmail.com.

Iit is elementary, the reason gmail surpassed Hotmail. Now to own an android you must have a gmail account without a choice of using your own personal email. there is no way around it.

“New compose” option is cutting some featuers that “old compose” already have.
For example i use “Streak” gmail app which is not available in “new compose”mode.
