Yeah because Job's never ever "...was difficult to work with and repeatedly changed his mind about product directions."

Make the important distinction between Technology Product, Technology Service, and Technology Content Mr. Chris Dixon.

Oh but a part-time developer is better than a part-time visionary? Part-time is just that part-time, just like a part-time lawyer, accountant, or arms dealer.

Fortunately for Mr.Dorsey, he has lots of lawyers, guns, and money.

After I watched the Seve Job's interview on AlthingsD from 2003/04 again[1], wanted to know what his body language would tell me what he knew already at that point in time about future products. I came away with a different opinion. It's not about the "vision" thing it's about observation, he's not talking about vision he is talking about observation and putting it into context. Which seems to create the vision thing. At one point Walt talked about one of his observations and one can see how it clicked for Steve and than the true magician he diverged from what he just learned.
Point is, vision without observational feedback might not be good enough, it seems to require this feedback loop which requires full involvement. Hence maybe the problem with Jack's part time vision thing. So this oh we just design or engineer won't cut it if one has to compete against a good observer.
