I’m just not going for it. There’s a lot of things that can be outsourced/turned into services pretty easily, but I’m just not going for it for lighting. LEDs are expensive now, but they’re rapidly getting cheaper and they’re not THAT much more expensive. The benefit of it being a service just doesn’t seem to offset the cost of the pains of having it be a service…

@sandman619 businesses already make provisions for utility expenses on their operations budget. The idea behind these contracts is that the lighting company sells the service for less than what is budgeted, but more than the new lower cost of energy running to the lighting sub panel. These types of performance contracts have existed for a while.

Usually businesses want to purchase something like this from their capital budget, which they have to spend anyway. Capital purchases have the benefit of not affecting a businesses monthly expenses budget too. Whereas, an ongoing service increases a businesses monthly expenses, between the two, this is usually a less desirable scenario
