If the print industry is to survive they must give the customer what it wants - TRUE JOURNALISM. Not a biased editorial of their personal ideology. Biased journalism has alienated 50% of the print industry's customer base. Government funding would only prop up editorial journalism and slant it even more toward the left. As soon as there is a return to true, unbiased journalism you'll see a profitable media industry that can charge for a digital product.

This writer seemed to miss the point that journalism was created to be the checks and balances for governent, so the idea to involve government in any way is ludicrous. In the U.S. it is well known the government funded NPR is slanted towards the left as with most of the main stream media. And there have already been calls in Congress to pass more regulations on free market radio that broadcasts a conservative narrative. Besides the tired idea of more taxes...imagine more government control? That would be the true end of journalism.
