I thin this is a great idea, I hope it does well, becase a mobile option is necessary for DTV since the current ATSC standards are awful for mobile application. I can’t wait until the “i” product dongles come out hopefull later this year.

Jamaica/Caribbean is faster than the US in adopting technology… I thought that the only thing they had going for them was track and field?

Yes. Japan is way ahead on Mobile TV. The big hold-up here, as I see it, is content copyright issues. One client of mine has had two MPH channels on for over two years, experimenting with it. When they go to the content providers for clearance to air the programming, most say “absolutely not!”, or they want additional payment for the rights. Only a few content providers are agreeing to let the TV staition simulcast thier regular HD or SD channel on a MPH channel.

Saw this in Japan 10 years ago. Not sure why it takes so long for cell phone technology to make it over here. That was actually the real revelation of the iPhone – for once, the US was on the leading edge of mobile.
