some people have small business or share content, you know like the guys who started You Tube. Like myself some people have servers at home which host whatever. These high speeds enable me to use my own PC’s as a cloud and access content from anywhere in the world. Also with more content being available only especially 1080p and higher you will need these speeds. Torrents and pirating are not the only reason for high speeds. Learn more about PC’s before you comment.

Nobody really uses that much download bandwidth unless you’re doing torrents, and if you are, you’re pirating… Or maybe all you’re downloading is Linux ISO files? Just maybe?
On another note, nobody seems to care about the shitty Comcast upload speeds compared with Fios. If I were Comcast, I would always allow for symmetric bandwidth. WTF?

Comcast’s pricing makes since to me. There’s a huge difference between 300Mbps and 305Mbps. I’d easily pay $90 more a month for the 5Mbps that wouldn’t even be perceivable.

The cap would be at 300 GB, according to your referenced story, not at 300 Mbps as you note here.
