Try Route4Me, which is free, and which gives turn-by-turn directions, maps, AND the option to optimize. On the iPad you can manually modify a route by simply moving stops around on the route list. A new map and directions are generated instantly. Also available on Android and through the desktop.

for the weather app i would recommend using Nooly Micro Weather app. it’s an awesome app that predicts the minute rain starts for every square mile in America. this stuff is so accurate :)

I found this currency converter very handy on my last trip: Currency Master. Clever little thing, very easy to enter amounts in whichever currency. The interface isn’t all that fancy, but it does the trick.
