More impressions is very important to developer, since apple bought the chomp, I think appstore maybe can integrate third-party app search engine(even recommend engine) to serve personalized user

Agreed, search is different than discovery. The way Apple and Mimvi are tackling discovery is just as this article pointed out, based on Amazon-like approaches. This is a good start but more needs to be done.

except search is not what matters for app discovery. Search is a minor dimension of discovery. Most people discover in passive mode, browsing. not search
