Wait, you're telling me that in the U.S. some providers have capped broadband plans? Thank god I live in Sweden! There isn't a single provider here that offers capped broadband plans! Only the mobile internet is capped, with most providers capping it between 2-10 GB for around. I currently pay (converted to dollars) around $27 for a mobile Internet service capped at 5 GB and $44 for 100 mbit uncapped broadband.

Just another reason I stopped using Comcast, too many confusing plans, rates, and trials that expire and hurt the consumer in the end. From caps, to rates going from $29 a month to $80 a month for internet ONLY to billing issues that Comcast then blames the customer for, all that switched me to use Sonic.net - $39.99 for unlimited broadband and home phone - and by unlimited I mean NO CAPS, THROTTLES OR OVERAGES.
Ive ditched cable and went Hulu and NetFlix and OTA Digital. Saved me $75 a month JUST FOR MYSELF.

It shocked me as well. My adult daughter watches a lot of HD streaming video. And since I'm a network guy by trade I went back and did some historical analysis. We commonly used 50GB as a family prior to my daughter getting Netflix and Hulu. After she purchased both our usage spiked to 100GB. When we cut the cord and added both my wife's my my unique viewing habits we surged to 300GB.

I'm tempted to put Wireshare or install e-Health. The aggregate data would be pretty interesting.

I asked Comcast if I could cancel my Internet service and still stream IP video to my Xbox 360 using their Xfinity TV program. So far I haven't received back an answer. My guess is I NEED to have Internet service with Big C.

This is the primary reason I abandoned my attempts to cut the cord. My family watches a lot of content and I found the first 3 weeks of cord cutting we consumed 300GB of data. That's only 3 weeks and without discovery all of our options for online content.

You better believe I'll be putting this to the test.
