The app has crashed numerous times on my 4th-gen iPod touch with iOS 5.0.1 numerous times, usually about 5 seconds into a video. I must say that having downloaded v1.5 after writing this last night, things are much better on that front. Some videos have also, when I have tried to view them, been 'unavailable' despite the fact that I could view them on the site and on YouTube. About a day later, these videos work, but it is still quite annoying.

A couple of things that annoy me about Vevo are the lack of a mobile site and the YouTube videos being unavailable on mobile devices, meaning that you must have the app to view content. Also, the app has no option to share videos outside of Facebook and Twitter. I would love to have the ability to copy a direct link or share a video via email.

With regards to the hosting, I was sure that I had read somewhere that the new site had no YouTube hosting whereas the old one did, but I must have been misinformed. I will update the Digixav article accordingly.

BTW, the new site is SO much better than the old one. :-)

Xavier what is wrong with our iOS app? And what problems are you referring to. We have not used YouTube hosting on our site or apps for over 18 months, btw. Thank you for the feedback. Rio

It's a bit busy and not as intuitive as it may seem. They need to retool the new UI and figure it out. I had to think about it for a moment for what to do, where to go. That's a fail right there. I'd be interested in retooling it myself in Photoshop and to submit suggestions.

This article is way off. Vevo took what was an awesome way to watch videos and ruined it. Before the update many people had custom playlists of videos and now they are all gone. To create list now you must have a Facebook account. This also means your facebook friends can see your playlists. Who really wants everyone to see their playlist? No one does. Furthermore, many people don't have a Facebook account and this totally leave them out of the loop. Boo Vevo. They ruined a sweet app.

Vevo, the music video service that causes more problems than it solves, launched a major redesign of its site today, notably emphasising Facebook connection and shifting away from YouTube hosting. Why can't they just hurry up fix the iOS app?
