I think IT professionals can and will adapt -- they are smart, creative professionals who must continue to learn new technologies. Cloud is the buzz today -- what will be the buzz tomorrow, and can we get past the Cloud buzz in a way that allows us to look at all the other technologies on the horizon? I certainly hope so, and I advocate for it. Here's my simplistic view of the topic: http://networkingexchangeblog.att.com/?source=IEa125001lta55VE.

Honestly we all need to get behind H.R. 3596 - United States Call Center Worker and Consumer Protection Act. This proposed legislation does not restrict outsourcing however levels the playing field for those companies who which to keep their operation domestic. I also believe this bill should include returning USA veterans and we figure out some way to apply the tax credits accordingly. You would think this would create some ecosystem since veterans typically spend locally.

This is the crazy part proposed legislation. H.R. 3596 for it is intended to bring jobs back to America right? The fact is both India and the Philippines generally believe this bill won’t pass and in fact they are forecasting their combined economy will grow by another 15 billion USD this year in outsourced work from the USA. This is crazy for I don’t believe much of that 15 billion will be coming back to the USA on purchases correct? I would propose that any company in the USA that brings outsourced positions back to the USA not only keep their tax credits but gain twice as much for bringing these positions back and employing US veterans. Let the companies that continue to ship jobs offshore pay for this with the fines that will be levied upon them. Remember 15 billion could help allot of hard working American including our veterans.
