Dear Ryan,

Your article reminds me of famous saying-
“Do what you love and you don’t have to work a single day in your whole life!”

And, how True it is! We have seen in the past, many successful entrepreneurs, after their initial success, open up businesses or join some social cause in which they had passion , but they didn’t able to do so in past,cause of many reasons(like- capital, opportunity etc.). But, once they get opportunity to do something they love, they go for it! And, it’s not only about the money or being successful( they already have both!), It’s about the inner satisfaction too!

Nice piece, but don’t you think timing played a key role in how well any company would do in the market? And the fact they had raised money before the pivot gave them the opportunity? I’m just not buying the passion card here. Anyone who starts a business has some passion for it. Please give founders some credit.

I agree with this article so much. I only wish more people understood the times they are a changin’! Some people (you know who you are) are locked into the old ways of doing things.
