Guidehop.com actually seemed to be the leading P2P activities site at SXSW in Austin last week. Regardless of the site, I like the concept.

Gidsy is an interesting example of the sharing economy, which also includes tool rental and p2p car rental, on sites like http://www.rentalic.com/ and http://www.rent-n-roll.de/. This might really become an essential part of the economy in the next few decades!

I love traveling and do it extensively for work and with friends, so the more of these types of operators, the better IMHO.

I've been on two Gidsy tours and one of each of Sidetour and Vayable. I could have been lucky, but the Gidsy tours were amazing, introducing me to new things, not just showing me the cream of the crop of Berlin or New York. I hope they roll into more cities soon, but am concerned how they can keep the number of activities up so that I know there is *always* something to book when I have a few hours left over on a trip.
